What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Architect App position at IPolarity?
Principal Architect App
Berkeley Heights, NJ / Alpharetta, GA(5days onsite)
W2 Contract(USC, GC)
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Sovereignty: Design and govern the enterprise-wide blueprints for hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments.
Massive Migration Leadership: Lead the technical strategy for migrating thousands of applications from physical data centers to optimized cloud or colocation endpoints.
The "Owner-Builder" Execution: Bridge the gap between highlevel strategy and tactical execution. You don't just hand off a design; you audit the code, validate the CI/CD pipelines, and ensure the "build" matches the "vision."
Program Orchestration: Act as the technical North Star for large-scale programs, ensuring disparate workstreams (security, networking, compute, and appdev) remain aligned.
HighStakes Stakeholder Management: Translate complex technical risks into business outcomes for C-suite executives while maintaining deep credibility with engineering teams.
Operational Readiness: Ensure that migrated applications aren't just "moved," but are resilient, observable, and cost-optimized.
The Ideal Profile
Diverse Technical Arsenal:
You are "T-Shaped." You have deep expertise in Applications but are equally comfortable discussing Infrastructure services.
Migration Veteran: You’ve lived through the "war stories" of large-scale data center exits. You know how to handle "un-migratable" legacy apps and complex dependencies.
The "Builder" Mindset: You likely have a background in software engineering or systems administration. You prefer a whiteboard and a terminal over a 50-slide PowerPoint deck.
Travel-Ready: You thrive on the ground. You are comfortable traveling up to 50% to interface with data center teams, regional hubs, and global stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 12 years in technical leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a Lead or Chief Architect.
Migration Mastery: Proven track record of leading at least two $50M data center migration or transformation programs.
Cloud Fluency: Expert-level certifications (or equivalent experience) in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Communication: Ability to command a room of engineers and a boardroom of executives simultaneously.
Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent "battle-tested" experience).
