Job Description Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) Location: IPL, Forsyth, GA Department: Manufacturing/Production Reports To: Production Manager Position Summary The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating manufacturing operations during the overnight shift to ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and employee performance expectations are achieved. This position provides direct supervision to production team members, promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and drives operational excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Management Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives. Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing or workflow as needed to achieve targets. Ensure efficient operation of equipment and production processes. Review production reports, downtime data, scrap rates, and other key performance indicators. Work closely with maintenance and quality teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop production employees to maximize performance and engagement. Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate production priorities and expectations. Monitor employee attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies. Facilitate employee training, cross-training, and onboarding activities. Address employee concerns and assist in resolving workplace issues professionally and timely. Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and plant procedures. Conduct routine safety observations and audits. Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Quality Assurance Ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Partner with Quality personnel to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions. Monitor scrap, waste, and defect trends and drive improvement initiatives. Continuous Improvement Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities. Encourage employee involvement in process improvement efforts. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience. At least 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production environment preferred. Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or packaging manufacturing is highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and employee development skills. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety regulations. Ability to analyze data and make sound operational decisions. Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear required PPE and safely perform plant floor activities. Work Schedule Full-time, 3rd Shift Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
