JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to join our Consulting Practice as part of Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. The DevSecOps Engineer will support a large-scale post-quantum cryptography (PQC) assessment project at the client, working across both legacy and modern cloud-native applications. This role focuses on evaluating application architectures, pipelines, and workflows, defining secure development practices, and implementing standard approaches for remediation. While knowledge of PQC concepts is helpful, it is not required; training and guidance will be provided as part of the project. Employees who are not actively deployed on a client project and reside within a one-hour commute of an Apex branch office are expected to work onsite at least once per week.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assess application architectures, SDLC workflows, and development pipelines for security alignment.
- Use SAST/DAST and other security tools to evaluate applications and identify potential gaps.
- Develop standardized solutions (“golden paths”) for secure development and remediation.
- Work with application teams to understand existing practices and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with the Technical GRC/Risk Assessment Lead to translate technical findings into risk assessments and reports.
- Support cloud and on-premises security considerations, including firewall and VPN configurations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in DevSecOps, application security, or secure development practices.
- Familiarity with SAST/DAST tools and secure SDLC workflows.
- Ability to read and understand code; hands-on coding is helpful but not required.
- Understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Employees who are not actively deployed on a client project and reside within a one-hour commute of an Apex branch office are expected to work onsite at least once per week.
- Penetration testing or AppSec background preferred.
- Experience with both legacy enterprise and modern cloud-native applications preferred.
