Position Summary
As a Business Development Representative, you’ll play a key role in driving IPAP’s growth by expanding distributor and supplier relationships, identifying new opportunities, and executing strategic initiatives. You’ll collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager to develop new business, maximize existing relationships, and deliver measurable results.
What You’ll Do:
Business Development
- Meet or exceed annual growth goals through new distributor and supplier partnerships
- Launch and onboard new distributors into IPAP programs
- Identify opportunities to grow business through new SKUs, private-label conversions, and category expansion
- Scout competitor gaps and position IPAP as a better solution
- Attend trade shows and educational events to build relationships and uncover opportunities
- Respond to distributor inquiries, prepare quotes/samples, and close sales
- Offer IPAP products as solutions to supply gaps and shortages
Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with distributors, suppliers, and Venture Partner stakeholders
- Understand partner needs and provide tailored solutions
- Lead quarterly meetings to review performance and explore new opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams (Procurement, Operations, Marketing) to ensure smooth communication and customer satisfaction
- Align goals and growth plans with the Business Development Manager
Marketing & Campaign Support
- Partner with the Marketing Strategist to plan and execute digital campaigns
- Provide product and partner info for launches and promotions
- Follow up on marketing leads and share results with leadership
- Offer feedback to improve campaign messaging and engagement
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with the Business Development Manager and Director to meet growth targets
- Share insights, market feedback, and best practices with the team
- Maintain accurate CRM records of partner interactions and opportunities
- Stay current on product knowledge, supplier programs, and market trends
- Suggest improvements to sales processes and distributor support
Performance Goals
- Achievement of annual sales and growth targets
- Number of new distributors onboarded and retained
- Growth in SKU participation and private-label conversions
- Distributor and supplier engagement and satisfaction
- Accuracy of CRM data and reporting
- Effective cross-departmental collaboration
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in business or related field (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in foodservice or related industry (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
