What You’ll Do As a Plant EHS Manager
The Plant EHS Manager leads Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at the plant level to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and foster a proactive safety culture. This role partners closely with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and corporate EHS to drive continual improvement and maintain ISO-14001 EMS certifications.

$117,682.00 - $147,405.00

What You’ll Do As a Plant EHS Manager
The Plant EHS Manager leads Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at the plant level to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and foster a proactive safety culture. This role partners closely with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and corporate EHS to drive continual improvement and maintain ISO-14001 EMS certifications.
What You Can Expect to Do as a Plant EHS Manager
- Lead and manage all EHS programs at the plant.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses; lead corrective actions.
- Investigate EHS incidents, near misses, and injuries; identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
- Manage regulatory reporting, permits, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with corporate EHS and plant leadership to integrate EHS into daily operations and continual improvement efforts.
- Lead emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management protocols.
- Promote sustainability initiatives and waste reduction programs.
- Track and analyze safety metrics and KPIs; prepare reports for plant and corporate leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- 8 years in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- 5 years in a chemical plant environment (preferred).
- 3 years in EHS regulatory roles.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems including ISO 14001 and strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA related compliance requirements.
- Experience leading audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with plant leadership and frontline employees.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with safety metrics, reporting, and continual improvement tools.
- Process Safety Management experience is a plus.
- CSP, CIH, CHMM or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
- Collaborative, hands-on manufacturing environment with strong leadership support.
