What is a Chemist:
The Chemist is responsible for supporting product development, formulation, and testing activities within a laboratory and manufacturing environment. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Production to develop new products, improve existing formulations, and troubleshoot technical issues. The Chemist plays a key role in ensuring product quality, consistency, and performance while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you can expect to do in a Chemist:
- Conduct laboratory experiments to support product development and formulation improvements
- Perform testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Document and interpret experimental data, providing clear and actionable insights
- Assist in scaling formulations from lab to pilot and full production
- Troubleshoot product and process issues in both lab and plant environments
- Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure product consistency and performance
- Maintain accurate records of formulations, test methods, and results
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and process efficiency
- Stay current on new materials, technologies, and industry trends
What we are looking for in a Chemist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required
- 2–5 years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with resins, gel coats, polymers, or composite materials preferred
- Strong understanding of basic chemical principles and laboratory techniques
- Strong understanding of lab safety
- Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
