Human Resources Assistant, Part-Time

Â Due to an employee promotion, the HR Department at IWCC is looking for someone who wants to join our team of HR professionals to help enhance the lives of not only our employees but our students, too. This position would be approximately 20 hours per week during our business hours of Monday-Friday, with your availability negotiable. This person would be responsible for assisting with various HR processes across all functional areas of the HR department, as well answering phones and greeting visitors to the HR Department. • Demonstrate IWCC's core mission, vision and values
• Greeting guests of the HR Department as they come in and answering phones
• Assist with data entry and e-filing
• Assist with coordinating employee trainings and job descriptions
• Answer unemployment claims
• Willingness to learn all functional areas of HR
• Other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and two years in an office environment; Associate's Degree preferred in applicable area or a combination of education and experience, but the right entry level person would be consideredÂ
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
• Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team
• Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, responsiveness and attitude
• Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen if applicable
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs
• The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
