Adjunct QuickBooks and Bookkeeping Instructor, CE

Description

The instructor is responsible for providing engaging, hand-on instruction in QuickBooks and bookkeeping principles to adult learners. This position will prepare and deliver classroom instruction designed to provide students with practical, applicable skills they can use in a business or professional setting. The instructor will create a supportive learning environment, demonstrate QuickBooks functionality, provide opportunities for hands-on practice, and adjust instruction to meet the needs and skill levels of the students.

Job Duties

• Plan, prepare and deliver face-to-face classroom instruction in QuickBooks and bookkeeping.
• Teach fundamental bookkeeping and accounting concepts applicable to businesses and organizations
• Demonstrate recording and managing business transactions, including income and expenses.
• Provide instruction on accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Demonstrate bank and credit card reconciliation
• Explain QuickBooks features, functions, and best practices
• Develop and utilize practical examples, exercises and activities to reinforce learning
• Assess student understanding and provide appropriate feedback and guidance
• Respond to student questions and provide clarification as needed
• Maintain a professional, respectful and inclusive classroom environment
• Adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate varying levels of student knowledge and experience
• Maintain current knowledge of QuickBooks and relevant bookkeeping practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree, coursework or professional experience in accounting, finance, business or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency and practical experience using QuickBooks
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
• Experience applying QuickBooks in a professional, business or organization setting
• Ability to effectively communicate and explain bookkeeping and accounting concepts to adult learners
• Ability to use technology and computer applications necessary to perform instructional duties
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Ability to pass a background check

Physical Demands

• The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
• Ability to lift up to 10lbs
• Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
