TITLE: ReStore/ Construction Associate

STATUS: Non-Exempt 35 hours per week

REPORTS TO: ReStore Director and Construction Staff

Compensation: $15.00 per hour PTO

POSITION OVERVIEW

Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity is looking for a team member that believes in its mission to play an integral role in its operations by working in ReStore and alongside the construction team. The work week for this position is Tuesday-Saturday. Candidates must provide excellent customer service, be willing to work with volunteers, embrace challenges, communicate well, and be flexible.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

ReStore Operations – Under the direction of the ReStore Director, provide excellent customer service, conduct product sales, assist in merchandising, and perform light maintenance of the facilities.

Responsibilities Include

· Cleanliness of sales floor area: floors, bathrooms, windows, shelves

· Sales transactions

· Answering phones in a timely manner

· Cleaning of all donated and purchased product

· Pricing of all small items

· Organizing isles and shelves to maintain clean and neat display of items

· Lifting and moving furniture, doors, and other large items

· Other tasks as assigned

Construction Operations- Under the direct supervision of Construction Leader, assist with construction site maintenance, manage construction logistics, and work with volunteers to complete tasks.

Responsibilities Include

· Maintaining a safe, clean, and debris-free construction site

· Working with construction staff and volunteers to complete home construction, rehabilitation, and repair projects

· Pick-up and delivery of construction materials

· Other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· High School graduate or GED recipient

· Retail sales experience, preferably in a home or building products industry

· Ability to successfully complete a criminal background and national sex offender registry screening

· A valid driver’s license and unrestricted driving record

· The ability to bend, reach and stand for long periods of time

· The ability to repetitively lift and move 35-50lbs

· The ability to work independently in an organized fashion, in a fast-paced environment

and effectively manage multiple tasks

· Demonstrate strong communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 36 per week
