A Junior High Boys Basketball Coach will:
Coach: Instruct student-athletes in fundamental basketball skills, team strategies, & physical training to support individual & team development. Organize & lead regular practices, conditioning sessions, & game preparations. Develop & implement effective game strategies & in-game adjustments.
Team Management: Promote teamwork, effort, & respect among student-athletes. Supervise players during practices, games, & travel. Maintain communication with parents, school staff, & the athletic department. Ensure players meet academic & behavioral expectations.
Administrative Tasks: Manage team equipment, keep records, & attend meetings. Coordinate game logistics & equipment needs. Uphold & model district policies & coaching ethics.
Communication: Maintain open communication with players, parents, & school administration. Ensure the safety & well-being of student-athletes during practices & games.
Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies & rules. Strong leadership, communication, & organizational skills. CPR/First Aid certification & coaching authorization are required.
