Key Responsibilities
- Provide phone and email support to Oakland clients, troubleshooting IT issues efficiently.
- Administer and manage on-premises and cloud-based Linux instances to ensure system stability.
- Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls via FortiManager, ensuring network security and efficiency.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot serial and network-connected scale devices.
- Manage and support O365 email accounts, ensuring seamless communication across the organization.
- Administer and maintain remote data center assets and AWS OUs, ensuring secure and scalable cloud operations.
- Assist with network troubleshooting and configuration, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Document processes, procedures, and solutions in internal knowledge bases for better efficiency and future reference.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement system improvements and optimizations.
- Provide on-site support and troubleshooting as needed, including occasional travel to company locations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong Linux administration skills, including experience with system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- A solid understanding of serial communication protocols and troubleshooting methods.
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager administration.
- Familiarity with O365 administration and Azure Active Directory basics.
- Knowledge of VMware, XCP-NG, and AWS (EC2, VPC) to support virtualized and cloud-based environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support remote locations and data centers.
- Windows Server administration experience, including system setup and maintenance.
- Knowledge of DNS and Active Directory management for user authentication and domain services.
- Experience working with Confluence or similar documentation tools for IT knowledge management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
