Development Coordinator - Gift Planning

Join the Iowa State University Foundation in our mission to engage our community, inspire philanthropy, and steward resources to advance Iowa State University and its impact on Iowa and the world. We are seeking an organized, service-oriented individual to join our gift planning team.

This key position on the gift planning team provides general office administrative support to the gift planning unit lead and team, as well as providing administrative and project management support to the assistant vice president of development.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate travel and post-travel follow-ups for development officers and the assistant vice president of development (AVP).
• Schedule meetings as needed including reserving rooms and facilities, catering, and arranging payments.
• Monitor accuracy of data in customer relationship management software (CRM) and maintain updated constituent information.
• Assist with coordination and project management of the gift planning marketing program and analysis including e-marketing, print newsletters, website, brochures, advisor e-newsletters, and mailers.
• Create internal communications, updating colleagues on gift planning matters.
• Coordinate gift planning seminars, webinars, conferences, and training sessions as requested. Assist with exhibits at external events to represent the office of gift planning.
• Act as the point of contact between the AVP and direct reports, leadership team, other staff, and clients. Manage AVP’s calendar, schedule meetings, and provide meeting support as needed.
• Create or modify/edit presentations by creating graphics, finding and preparing photos and illustrations. Proofread and review presentations.
• Provide administrative support for special initiatives and projects.

Education & Work Experience

• 5-6 years of work experience related to employment area. Education may be substituted for years of work experience.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, advanced experience with Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint is preferred.
• Ability to learn in-house computer systems is required, experience with fundraising or sales CRM is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be adaptable, flexible, and self-directed.
• Highly organized and able to handle several activities simultaneously with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines and accuracy.
• Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
