Industrial Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
Location: West Des Moines, IA
Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 1st Shift
Iowa Staffing is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a growing manufacturing facility in West Des Moines, Iowa. Essential Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment throughout the facility.
· Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective solutions.
· Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
· Assist with developing and improving preventive maintenance procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Complete mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades and improvement projects.
· Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical components and control systems.
· Work with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems and industrial controls.
· Communicate repair status, project updates, required parts, and estimated completion times with plant personnel.
· Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely while following company policies, SOPs, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
· Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Minimum of 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with industrial control systems.
· Experience working with:
o AC/DC motors
o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
o Power supplies
o Relays
o Servo motors
o Industrial data communication systems
· Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs is highly preferred.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
