What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prior Authorization position at Iowa Specialty Hospital?
Job Description:
Full Time Prior Authorization Specialist – Ancillary Services remote position available.
Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Responsible for the smooth operation of the prior authorization process.
This person may also be needed to assist the nurses and providers with mailings and multiple other duties concerning the coordination of patient care and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous Prior Auth experience required in Imaging.
Clinical experience preferred but not required.
This position requires a thorough understanding of the third-party payer systems.
Comfortability with computer and navigating web portals.
Experience working with the EPIC electronic health record system required.
Excellent communication skills, computer skills, telephone skills, teamwork, critical thinking the ability to work with the public and multitask are a must.
