Job Description:
Full-time weekend position (Friday-Sunday 7a-7p) in Clarion OB Department
Provides expert lactation care and utilization review services.
Partners with nursing team to assist patients with breastfeeding, serving as clinical expert, educator, and advocate for evidence-based lactation practices.
Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient and outpatient lactation support, conducting newborn weight checks, and teaching childbirth and breastfeeding education classes.
Reviewing OB and medical-surgical charts to ensure compliance with insurance and documentation guidelines.
Requirements:
BLS and AVADE certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Requires NRP, PALS and ACLS or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Current Certified Breastfeeding Consultant or Certified Lactation Counselor certification
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) preferred; required within 2 years of hire
