We are seeking skilled and dependable contract interpreters to provide language access services across Central Iowa. In this role, you’ll help individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) connect with essential services and resources.
What You'll Do
- Provide accurate, culturally appropriate interpretation
- Facilitate communication between clients and service providers
- Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and confidentiality
- Serve as a cultural bridge to support mutual understanding
- Prepare for assignments using relevant terminology and materials

What We're Looking For
- Based in or near Central Iowa (remote possible, but not preferred)
- Native or near-native fluency in English target language
- Strong cultural competency and communication skills
- Ability to remain objective in sensitive environments
- Familiarity with industry terminology (or willingness to learn)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks (criminal, child/dependent adult abuse, sex offender registry)
Position Details
- Freelance / Independent Contractor
- On-site across Central Iowa occasional remote assignments
- Flexible, as-needed scheduling (primarily weekdays)
- Starting at $35/hour, depending on experience
