Job Overview911 Dispatcher – Full-Time
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our Communications Center as a full-time 911 Dispatcher.
Duties include:
- Receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the public.
- Assessing information and dispatching the appropriate law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other emergency personnel.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and professional.
Qualifications include:
- Strong typing and computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Position Details:
- Full-time position
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Shift hours will primarily consist of 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Training/Probation wage: $22.18 per hour
- Full stepped-up wage: $29.69 per hour, plus shift differential and longevity
