Job Summary
The Kennel Manager oversees the daily operations of the animal care department, ensuring all animals receive humane, high-quality care. This role leads and supports the kennel team, manages intake and medical processes, and maintains a safe, clean, and well-functioning shelter environment.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and support the kennel (animal care) team
- Ensure animals receive proper daily care, enrichment, and medical attention
- Oversee and manage intake, including strays, surrenders and transfers
- Monitor animal health and behavior and make appropriate care decisions
- Provide and oversee medical care for animals, including administering vaccinations, fluids, and medications in accordance with established veterinary protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Foster a positive, supportive, and team-oriented culture
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership or supervisory skills
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working with animals (shelter experience preferred)
- Confidence handling a wide range of animal behaviors
- Experience administering vaccinations, fluids, and medications preferred
- Education in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience, preferred
Schedule & Environment
- Active, hands-on role with physical and emotional demands
- Occasional weekend coverage as needed to support staffing and operations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
