This is an on-site volunteer role for an Assistant Track and Field Coach specializing in Sprints and Jumps, located in Iowa City, IA. The individual will assist in planning and conducting practices, coaching athletes in sprints and jumps techniques, developing effective training programs, and providing guidance and support to student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include mentoring players, promoting a positive team environment, and ensuring athlete safety and compliance with school and athletic regulations. The role also involves working closely with the head coach to achieve the team's goals.
- Experience in Track and Field, with a focus on sprints and jumps
- Strong Coaching and Athletic Training skills necessary to guide and develop student-athletes
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills for mentoring and interacting with athletes, staff, and parents
- Ability to develop and implement effective Training plans that align with team goals
- Passion for supporting student-athletes' development in both athletics and character
- Prior coaching experience and relevant certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and track and field techniques is advantageous
