What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Swim Coach position at Iowa City Eels Swim Club?
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Swimming Coach to join our team to lead our youngest practice groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming and coaching, with a focus on teaching swimmers the skills and confidence needed to join our competitive team. Coach would also have the opportunity to serve as a fill in coach for our older groups. Must be available for coaching on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Duties:
- Plan and supervise swim practice for swimmers age 5-14.
- Provide individualized coaching to improve technique and performance
- Monitor swimmers' progress and provide feedback for improvement
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers during training sessions
- Collaborate with head coach to plan team strategies and goals
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Swim Coach is preferred
- Age Group Competitive Swimming experience is preferred
- Lifeguard and/or CPR Certification required
- Ability to educate and motivate young swimmers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals and teams
Additional Notes:
- Practices range from 5:00-7:30 Monday-Friday
- Availability 5:00-5:30 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday are required.
- Some weekend Meet coaching may be required.
- The club will facilitate and pay for any additional training required
- 3-10 hours per week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
