What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4 hrs/day Summer School Teacher (Boost) (8:30-12:30) position at Iowa City Community School District?
The Summer Boost Program is for any incoming 6th grader who expresses interest. The program is designed to help reduce anxiety and help students acclimate to the middle school life. Not every student will need BOOST as we do offer an orientation as well in August. The Summer Boost Program is run by members of the North Central faculty and staff. The purpose of the Boost program is to provide students an intensive orientation experience including:
- Opportunities to meet and build community with Southeast students and staff.
- Learning about the resources and opportunities available at Southeast
- Chances to tour the building and practice navigating from place to place
- Learning Southeast's community/PBIS expectations (academic and social)
Dates: July 28- July 31, Session 1: July 28/29, Session 2 July 30/31
Times: 9:00am-12:00pm
Teachers will be able to clock 8 hours of prep time to get Boost started
