Game Operations Staff ensure that contests run smoothly by managing official game functions and providing a positive atmosphere for student-athletes, officials, and fans.
Examples of Duties
Responsibilities:
- Announcers: Provide in-game announcements, introductions, and updates in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
- Game Clock/Play Clock/Shot Clock Operators: Accurately manage time and possession according to game rules and official instructions.
- Scoreboard Operators: Update scores and game information quickly and accurately.
- Spotter: Assist announcers by identifying players and plays.
- Libero Tracker & Scorebook Keepers: Maintain accurate volleyball and other game records according to sport regulations.
- Collaborate with athletic staff, officials, and other game personnel.
- Represent Iowa Central in a professional and positive manner.
Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, and attentive throughout events.
- Ability to follow directions and understand game rules (training provided).
- Strong communication skills; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience helpful but not required.
- Hours vary based on the home athletic schedule.
