Join our dedicated team as a Clinical Services Manager at the Visiting Nurse Association, where we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality home health care to our community. This full time leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee clinical operations, support staff development, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to home health staff, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations of home health services to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support nursing and clinical team members to promote professional growth, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Review and monitor clinical documentation and electronic health records (EHR) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to enhance patient care quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with staff education and training to support continued professional development and adherence to best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, physicians, and external agencies to facilitate effective communication and service delivery.
  • Participate in strategic planning, operational decision-making, and agency initiatives to support organizational goals.
  • Manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills, effective leadership, and sound clinical judgment.

Requirements

Current state license as one of the following: 

  • Physician
  • Physical Therapist
  • Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Audiologist
  • Social Worker
  • Registered Nurse
  • Active professional license to practice in the State of Iowa.
  • 3–5 years of experience in home health or hospice care, including prior supervisory or management experience.
  • Work Schedule: M-F 8AM-5PM and includes participation is services on call rotation. This is not a remote position, attendance in office is required
  • Strong knowledge of home health regulations, standards of care, and best clinical practices.
  • Experience or training in home health reimbursement for Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and clinical documentation processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making abilities, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, high standards of practice, and adherence to agency policies.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and adequate auto insurance as required by agency personnel policies.
  • All offers of employment are conditioned upon the result of a criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, as required by law and a negative finding on the Office of Inspector General’s Excluded Provider List.

  • Demonstrates organizational skills necessary to manage workload and productivity expectations.  
  • Works independently and utilizes agency information regarding policy and procedure changes.  
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters, including employee information, client information and agency matters. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing, in person or in phone conversations.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen effectively, and establish positive relationships with staff and managers, physicians, and other community services providers. 
  • Possesses technology skills including computer/PC, smart phones, voicemail, electronic mail, EMR and proprietary 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Duties are performed in a private office. T

  • Atmospheric conditions – fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, or smoking.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE: 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, going up and down stairs.
  • Occasional lifting greater than 10 lbs with or without the use of assistive/adaptive devices. 
  • Duties require use of hands, fine motor coordination and dexterity, the ability to grasp, vision with or without corrective aids adequate for fine motor tasks.
  • Office machinery including extensive use of computers, copiers, phones. 
  • Knowledge for documentation and communication. 
  • Visual acuity to operate electronic devises, computer terminal for reading data and figures. 
  • Cognitive ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interprets instructions.
