With a lean team of dedicated scientists and engineers, we are seeking an intern to support the Chief Business Officer and Chief Operating Officer in growing our early stage sales funnel and expanding on our partnerships.
Position OverviewThe Outreach Intern will support iOB’s growth by focusing on outreach to potential customers and partners in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Working closely with the CBO and executive team, the intern will help expand iOB’s network by identifying prospective customers, initiating contact, and assisting in the development of relationships that may lead to commercial opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include researching and profiling potential customers, drafting outreach communications, execute outreach campaigns, prepare answers, coordinating introductory meetings, and helping prepare tailored presentations and materials. The intern will track outreach efforts, follow up with prospects, and support the team in managing early-stage discussions with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
This role will also involve contributing to market research and competitive intelligence to refine outreach strategies and ensure that customer engagement aligns with iOB’s broader business development objectives.
This is a temporary, hands-on internship designed to provide experience in customer engagement and relationship-building within a high-growth biotechnology startup, that may lead to a full time role. It is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to learn how to generate and nurture customer relationships in a commercial setting.
Partnership & Deal Support
- Assist the COO by identifying sales leads, drafting and sending outreach emails, and supporting back-and-forth communication with potential customers.
- Maintain and leverage the CRM tool to generate targeted campaigns for lead generation, monitoring, and KPIs tracking and reporting.
- Report weekly on progress at company-wide meetings.
- Help coordinate early conversations with putative customers and partners companies, tracking progress from first contact through follow-up.
- Support the preparation of materials for partnership discussions, proposals, and basic due diligence.
- Contribute research to identify and prioritize new business opportunities aligned with iOB’s strategic objectives.
Market Strategy & Commercial Insights
- Conduct market and competitive research to support customer outreach strategy and commercial planning.
- Track conferences, speakers and publications relevant to the field.
- Assist in compiling information from advisors, product leaders, and scientists to highlight potential commercial applications of research.
- Create reports on the substance of customer calls to substantiate market discovery and search for product-market fit
- Collect and organize market-driven KPIs that inform outreach priorities and BD activities.
Alliance Management
- Support ongoing collaborations by helping track progress, preparing status updates, and coordinating communication with partners.
- Assist the CBO and CEO with follow-up tasks related to established alliances.
Help ensure documentation and partner commitments are properly tracked.
