Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Literacy Specialist to join our team and champion literacy development across 5 elementary schools. In this role, you will design, implement, and evaluate engaging literacy programs that enhance reading and writing skills for learners of all ages. Your expertise will drive innovative instructional strategies, leveraging cutting-edge learning technologies to foster a love for literacy and empower learners to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Lead MTSS & Evidence-Based Instruction: Facilitate the development of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) using research-backed frameworks like the "Simple View of Reading," IES Practice Guides, and GELN Literacy Essentials.
- Curriculum Implementation & Fidelity: Support the high-fidelity use of the district’s core reading programs and specific interventions, including ECRI, Heggerty, Phonics for Reading, and REWARDS, ensuring mastery of the "Big Ideas of Reading."
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Administer and score assessments (such as Acadience Reading), analyze student data to determine instructional placements, and monitor program fidelity to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Classroom Coaching & Professional Support: Provide non-evaluative, "next steps" feedback through model teaching, co-teaching, and lesson planning to help staff refine their daily literacy routines and classroom management.
- Systemic Literacy Coordination: Assist leadership in structuring 90-minute reading blocks and school-wide systems to improve achievement, while coordinating interventions for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students.
- Relationship Management & Collaboration: Build trusting, professional relationships with staff and stakeholders to facilitate system changes, while maintaining clear communication and attending monthly specialist collaborations.
Pay: $45,998.00 - $68,998.00 per year
