The Sr. Manager/Director of Content Distribution & Marketing is responsible for driving the strategic distribution, licensing, and monetization of the company’s content portfolio across linear television, digital platforms, and emerging streaming ecosystems. This role leads key partnerships with MVPDs, streaming platforms, and digital distributors while identifying new opportunities to expand audience reach and revenue.

The Sr. Manager/Director will work cross-functionally with Ad Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to maximize distribution value, strengthen affiliate relationships, and support the growth of the company’s content brands across domestic and international markets.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute distribution strategies to maximize reach and revenue for the company’s programming across linear, digital, and streaming platforms.
  • Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities across OTT, FAST, AVOD, SVOD, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize distribution strategy and maximize ROI.
  • Manage and expand relationships with MVPDs, virtual MVPDs, streaming platforms, and technology partners.
  • Identify incremental revenue opportunities through new platforms, syndication, and content licensing.
  • Collaborate with external partners on joint marketing and promotional initiatives.
  • Assist senior leadership in negotiating content distribution agreements and platform partnerships, by preparing deal analyses, presentations, and financial models to support negotiations.
  • Drive contract compliance and business alignment by partnering with Legal and Finance teams, preparing clear contract summaries, and overseeing all post‑deal obligations.
  • Develop partner business review materials, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Track evolving trends across streaming, FAST channels, digital distribution, and audience consumption behaviors.
  • Monitor competitor strategies and emerging technologies impacting content distribution.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, panels, and strategic partner meetings.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across departments to ensure alignment with company goals.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the evolving linear and digital media ecosystem, including FAST, OTT, AVOD, and SVOD platforms.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate deal economics.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with content licensing, affiliate relations, and distribution agreements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced media environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Highly organized professional with strong project management capabilities and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Skills to include:
  • Assembling executive-level power point presentations
  • Building spreadsheets in excel including the creation of basic tables, formulas and preparing executive summaries.
  • Complies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory trainings and adheres to related course deadlines.
  • Legal right to work in the US.

Education And/Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Media, Communications, or related field required.
  • 8–12 years of experience in media distribution, content partnerships, business development, or digital media strategy.
  • Experience working with streaming platforms, broadcast networks, or media distribution partners.
  • Experience in supporting complex partnership negotiations and distribution agreements.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary Range: $120k-160k.
