What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Coach (79187) position at IONA UNIVERSITY?
Position Summary:
To assist in the development, promotion and supervision of all facets of the Colleges Womens Basketball program. Assist the head coach in overseeing the academic excellence of all student-athletes that are involved with the program. Assist with fundraising efforts and recruiting quality student-athletes for the future of the program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in planning, preparing, and executing practice and game plans, strategies, and alternatives which are designed to bring success to the program.
- Assist the head coach with game preparation. Relate in a positive and effective manner with officials, opponents, parents, media, and the public.
- Assist the head coach in recruit quality athletes capable of pursuing the baccalaureate degree in accordance with the rules and regulations of the governing bodies and in such a manner that reflects the best interests of the program and the College.
- Assist the head coach in all fundraising activities for the program.
- Assist the head coach in preparing eligibility documentation for submittal to the Assistant AD/Compliance.
- Participate in annual continuing education pertaining to NCAA rules.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Masters degree preferred
- Must have advanced knowledge of the sport to be coached as well as knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Salary : $66,300 - $71,400
