We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong experience with QuickBooks, and can support a wide range of accounting functions. Experience in solar or construction accounting is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile accounts in QuickBooks
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support payroll, expense tracking, and general ledger management
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Coordinate with operations, installation, and sales teams on project-based accounting needs
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Assist leadership with additional accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
- Experience in solar, construction, or project-based accounting (preferred)
- Understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- No CPA license required
- Degree or working toward an accounting degree (preferred)
Schedule and Location
- Full-time position (Full time preferred or part time basis considered minimum of 30 hours In office is a must with the ability of working remote after 90 days.)
- Based in Middlebury, Connecticut
