Title: Substitute Infirmary Nurse

Job Status: Temporary, On-Call
Hourly Rate: $32 per hour
Job Summary: ‘Iolani School is seeking licensed nurses to join the Infirmary team as a substitute nurse.
Infirmary nurses use their clinical experience and judgment to provide health care to students, faculty and staff on campus. Infirmary nurses work together with students, parents, athletic trainers, medical doctors and school faculty to provide the highest level of wellness while on campus.
Successful candidates will enjoy working with students and adults as an active member of the Infirmary team, to support student health.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the Infirmary for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs.
- Communicate status updates and treatment with parents/guardians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with Infirmary staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Hawaii State RN or LPN license.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent nursing experience.
- Current Healthcare Provider Level CPR Certification.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of professional nursing as well as State and local laws relating to health and social issues.
- Ability to handle interruptions and multiple demands.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively with children, teens, family members, educators and administrators of diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Acute pediatric care experience.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Extended periods of sitting, walking, and/or standing.
- Ability to see and hear with or without correction.
- Ability to lift, carry, reach overhead above shoulders, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Work is generally performed Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
- Due to work in close proximity to children, the selected candidate must undergo fingerprint background check and submit proof of TB clearance required. This role may require working outside of regular school hours during testing periods.
