Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, ‘Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi enrolling approximately 2,200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.

Job Summary
:
We seek an experienced educator who is passionate, collaborative, and reflective to join our History Department to teach in at least one of the following disciplines: Ninth Grade History of the Modern World, Tenth Grade United States History, and/or AP United States History.
The position requires active participation in our vibrant learning community and an educator who will inspire and support our students. The role also requires ongoing collaboration with teaching teams at the course and departmental level. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of History, strong instructional practice, and a genuine love of teaching within a mission-driven independent school environment.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in History or related discipline.
Minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching experience in History in grades 7-12.-
A demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and to design lessons which make use of a wide variety of learning methods.

Ability to design and execute curriculum as part of a teaching team.

Excellent written and verbal communication and proficiency in educational technology.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
:
- Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction.

Full range of head, neck, and back movement; unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrists.

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without difficulty.

Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for sustained periods of time.

Must successfully pass fingerprinting, background checks, and TB clearance due to working in proximity to children.
