Job Description: The Maintenance Technician will report daily to the Maintenance Manager and work directly with the Plant Managers, and Plant Operators. They will be responsible for basic to intermediate equipment and plant maintenance tasks and facility services with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance repairs, and performing modifications and adjustments.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
· Perform general plant maintenance including cleaning, painting, organizing, inventory and parts delivery
· Perform skilled plant maintenance including pipe installation, valve replacement and repairs, pump and motor installation
· Perform routine maintenance on fork trucks and other machinery
· Perform routine maintenance on pumps, motors, blowers, fans, and compressors
· Assist Maintenance Manager with updating handbooks and operating procedures
· Assist with post-Safety Audit action plans as described by Plant Managers
· Operate a fork truck
· Work safely around hazardous chemical systems and within hazardous environments
· Assist with tower repack projects
· Attend and contribute to regular team meetings
· Produce Excel and Word based maintenance reports as required
· Manage contractors as required
· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
· Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy, and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards.
· Wear proper PPE as directed in safety policies
· Follow all safety polices, codes of conduct, and corporate policies and guidelines
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in maintenance jobs
- Proven ability to follow safety, SOPS guidelines and general employment rules and guidelines.
- Ability to communicate, problem solve, organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Clear and concise communication skills
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to work in a variety of climatic and weather conditions.
· Able to walk on uneven ground, climb ladders, lift 60 pounds, use of air purifying respirator for up to 30 minutes.
· Basic skills in math, mechanics, construction, electrical, PLC, and tools.
· Familiarity with manufacturing and chemical plant operations.
· May be required to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
