Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Works in all aspects of new and improved dietary supplement solid dose product development under the direction of a Manager of R&D
- Creates, maintains, and reviews product documentation including Request for Quote formulas, Unit Dose specifications, Change Orders, and Label copy as assigned.
- Assists in the creation of new and improved processes and operating procedures.
- Works with a variety of solid dose forms including tablet cores, capsules, powders, flavors, coated, and chewable tablets with minimal supervision.
- Operates all solid dose development, testing, and production equipment with minimal supervision.
- Carries out bench and scale up pilots with minimal supervision.
- May interact with customers in person and in writing.
- Manages personal project schedule and prepares regular progress reports of assigned tasks.
- Keeps a current laboratory notebook of all projects.
- Maintains a clean, safe laboratory environment.
- Assist with enforcing food safety program and procedures, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 4 year College/University degree and 1-3 years’ experience or 6-8 years solid dose development experience preferred.
- Able to work in Algebra 2 and the metric system.
- Able to use the scientific method.
- Able to complete accurate and precise work in a timely manner.
- Able to function in a laboratory and production setting.
- Able to work without direction in “Office” programs especially document creation, spreadsheets and e-mail.
- Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
