Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer | Denver Metropolitan Area
Reporting to Director of Quality and Patient Safety
Summary of Position:
The Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) will work closely with the Director of Quality & Patient Safety and the Magnetic Resonance Medical Director (MRMD) to develop, monitor and maintain the magnetic resonance imaging safety program.
General Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies ACR compliance in MRI safety vulnerability and collaborates for solutions.
- Manages all MRI-related policies.
- Creates and updates all levels of MRI safety education for staff and vendors as defined by the evolving practice of MRI safety as governed by the ACR.
- Researches MRI safety incidents and close call reports to improve MRI safety program.
- Oversee the Radiology Information System (RIS) MRI implant queue to minimize MRI scan time slots vacancies.
- Develop and revise as needed, an MRI safety workflow within EMR/RIS system.
- Represent the incident reporting process to include actual events and close calls.
MRI Safety Subcommittee to the Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC):
- Co-chair the MRI Safety Subcommittee with the MRMD and maintain documentation of the subcommittee’s work.
- Report successes and opportunities to the quarterly QPSC meetings.
Additional Duties:
- Provides support to department team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Experience/Skill Requirements:
- Five (5) years of MRI-related work experience, required.
- Ten (10) years of MRI-related work experience, preferred.
- Three (3) years of MRSO-related work experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of a high-functioning MRI safety program, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively to facilitate positive working relationships and achieve desired outcomes.
- Detail-oriented in documentation.
Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field, required.
- Current MRI license through American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
- Successful completion of a Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer Program, required.
Annualized salary is between $90,000 and $110,000 depending on qualifications.
In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Invision Sally Jobe’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position will accept applications on an ongoing basis, and will remain open until filled.

Full-time employees will become eligible for benefits on the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time employees may have access to some of these benefits, which may be on a pro-rated basis. PRN employees are not eligible for benefits.
