Job Overview

The Vice President of Strategic Planning (VP of Strategic Planning) will play a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for defining Poloniex’s long-term strategy, global market expansion roadmap, and cross-functional strategic initiatives. Reporting to the CEO and COO, the VP will oversee corporate planning, strategic analysis, market intelligence, and enterprise-level priorities—ensuring alignment between vision, execution, and sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished strategy and corporate development leader with deep experience in fintech, blockchain, or institutional financial services. They should demonstrate the ability to guide organizational strategy, evaluate global opportunities, optimize business performance, and support Poloniex’s growth into new markets with clarity and discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Corporate Vision

Lead the development and execution of Poloniex’s global strategic plan, ensuring alignment with long-term corporate objectives and regulatory environments.

Build multi-year strategic roadmaps across business units, markets, and product lines.

Identify new growth opportunities in digital assets, institutional adoption, global markets, and emerging blockchain innovations.

Conduct strategic assessments that guide organizational priorities and investment decisions.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

Oversee global market research, industry trend analysis, and competitive intelligence to guide executive decision-making.

Evaluate market, regulatory, and technological shifts in the digital asset ecosystem and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Strengthen Poloniex’s market positioning and long-term competitive advantage.

Global Expansion & Institutional Strategy

Lead strategic planning for Poloniex’s expansion into the Americas and other priority markets.

Develop scalable frameworks to support institutional partnerships, cross-border trading, and ecosystem growth.

Ensure strategic initiatives support global regulatory requirements, governance standards, and enterprise-level objectives.

Organizational Alignment & Business Execution

Partner with product, technology, compliance, operations, and finance leaders to drive aligned execution of strategic initiatives.

Define business priorities, OKRs, and cross-functional governance frameworks.

Guide strategic transformation initiatives that enhance scalability, operational efficiency, and organizational maturity.

Governance, Risk & Strategic Oversight

Oversee strategic risk assessments related to market entry, partnerships, competition, regulatory changes, and major investments.

Support the development of corporate governance and decision-making structures for long-term strategic resilience.

Ensure that key strategic plans align with Poloniex’s risk appetite, compliance obligations, and global standards.

Leadership & Organizational Development

Build and mentor a high-performing strategy team with strong analytical, market, and cross-functional capabilities.

Guide leadership development, strategic communication, and stakeholder alignment at all levels.

Financial Optimization & Strategic Resource Allocation

Qualifications

18–20 years of progressive experience in strategic management, corporate development, or executive leadership within fintech, blockchain, or financial services.

Proven success in driving corporate strategy, global expansion, and enterprise transformation.

Deep understanding of digital asset markets, blockchain technology, and institutional financial systems.

Expertise in strategic planning, market analysis, governance, and organizational alignment.

Exceptional communication, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
