Job Title: Safety Assistant
Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Reports To: Safety Manager / Site Safety Supervisor

Job Summary
The Safety Assistant supports the Safety Manager and site team in maintaining a safe and compliant construction environment. This role involves assisting with safety inspections, documentation, training coordination, and ensuring that all employees follow established safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting regular site safety inspections and audits
Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
Help prepare safety documentation, reports, and incident records
Support safety training sessions and toolbox talks for site employees
Identify potential hazards and report them promptly to supervisors
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel
Assist in maintaining safety signage, emergency equipment, and first-aid stations
Participate in accident investigations and safety meetings as required
Promote a culture of safety awareness across the construction site
Perform other duties as assigned by the Safety Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in construction or safety-related roles is a plus but not required
Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
Strong attention to detail and observational skills
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Physical ability to walk, climb, and carry light equipment on site
Willingness to work full-time on-site, including potential shift work
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of basic construction site operations
Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Positive attitude toward learning and safety compliance
Work Environment
Active construction sites with exposure to machinery, noise, and variable weather conditions
