Description
A Shipping and Receiving Associate contributes strong expertise in distribution operations, forklift operation, and order fulfillment to support production activities. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Hi-Lo to transport materials throughout the facility. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapting to changing demands and determining task urgency as situations evolve. Associates may also be expected to perform a variety of functions as needed to support daily operations. A key strength in this role is the ability to integrate safety, product integrity, and quality standards while effectively communicating and reinforcing these priorities with the team.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving incoming shipments, processing in the ERP system, and routes incoming material to the proper destination.
- Prepare incoming outsourced and internally manufactured parts for secondary operations.
- Prepares shippers for outgoing items.
- Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures.
- Scheduling of trucks through third party shipping, internally, and internationally.
- Preparing shipments for both domestic and international shipping.
- Responsible for proper documentation of receivables and shipments.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers, inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages, and verify accurate information on the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Tracking and maintenance of inventory within the ERP system and on the plant floor.
- Delivery and pick up of shipments to local vendors and customers.
- Follow instructions given by supervisor quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Able to perform other shop duties required by the company.
