What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Intern, Industry & Financial Analysis Summer 2026 position at Investment Company Institute?
Provides research assistance to the senior director, assistant director, and senior economists. Under their direction, analyzes economic, financial, and fund industry developments and trends. This internship will take place over a two-month period from June-July.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on industries, markets, and companies.
- Prepare research briefs, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external use.
- Monitor industry news, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all assigned tasks.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet).
- Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., Python, R).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for research and financial markets.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
