Job Summary (List Format) – Network Engineer II
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot hybrid on-premises and cloud (Azure) network environments, primarily using Cisco infrastructure.
- Serve as a tier-2 escalation point for complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Cisco switching, routing (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR), SD-WAN (vManage, vSmart, vBond), and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Administer Cisco firewalls (Firepower/FTD) for policy management, VPNs, NAT, and threat protection.
- Manage F5 load balancers (virtual servers, pools, SSL, certificates) and support Cisco wireless (Catalyst 9800 controllers, access points).
- Administer Forescout or similar NAC platforms for device classification and policy enforcement.
- Design, operate, and secure Azure networking components (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, NSGs, Azure Firewall).
- Implement hybrid connectivity and support cloud landing zones, hub-and-spoke, and segmentation models.
- Utilize modern network monitoring and automation platforms (Cisco Catalyst Center, Nexus Dashboard, Forward Networks).
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible), Python scripts, and use Git for version control.
- Leverage AI tools (AI coding assistants, AIOps features) to support troubleshooting, code generation, and documentation.
- Plan, document, and execute network changes, adhering to change management processes.
- Contribute to network projects (site builds, migrations, refreshes, segmentation).
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to ensure a reliable, secure, and high-performing network.
- On-site work required at San Francisco HQ, with occasional travel to remote sites.
