Research Scientist – Aging & Retinal Biology
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to support a growing aging and retinal assay platform within their neurodegeneration portfolio. This is a hands-on, translational role focused on mechanisms of aging and retinal degeneration, working closely with the Principal Investigator.
In this position, you’ll own critical experimental workflows in rodent models and ex vivo tissues, generating high-quality molecular, cellular, and imaging data to advance therapeutic discovery. It’s a great fit for a scientist who enjoys building robust, reproducible assays and contributing across multiple programs.
What you’ll do
- Develop, optimize, and run retinal and aging-related molecular and cellular assays
- Lead retinal tissue workflows including dissection, sectioning, staining, and quantitative analysis
- Perform in vivo and ex vivo rodent studies in accordance with approved protocols
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets and contribute to reports, presentations, and manuscripts
What we’re looking for
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field
- At least 1 year of industry research experience (biotech or pharma)
- Strong molecular and cellular biology background with hands-on rodent experience
- Expertise in immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, PCR/qPCR, and Western blotting
- Experience in retinal biology, aging research, or assay development is a plus
