Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to residents in a group home or assisted living environment. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, and other support requirements.
Duties
- Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Assist residents with mobility and lifting as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement and personal growth.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents.
- Document resident progress and any changes in behavior or health status, reporting concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings as required.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Requirements
- Experience in memory care, group home settings, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to lift and assist residents as necessary while maintaining their dignity.
- Previous experience in home care or assisted living environments is a plus.
- A valid driver’s license is required for transporting residents.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
