Project Accountant | Energy Storage | Chicago (Hybrid)
I’m working with a well-capitalized energy storage platform that’s scaling one of the largest battery portfolios in the U.S. They are backed by a top-tier infrastructure investor and actively developing, constructing, and operating utility-scale projects across multiple ISO markets.
They’re hiring a Project Accountant to join their accounting operations team in Chicago (hybrid, 3 days in-office).
What you’ll be doing
- Own journal entries and reconciliations across multiple project entities
- Review and analyze project trial balances and identify cost variances
- Partner closely with AP to improve coding accuracy and processes
- Support month-end close, audits, and lender-related items like draw requests
- Get exposure to projects across development, construction, and operations
What they’re looking for
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting strongly preferred)
- Solid GAAP foundation and real GL ownership
- Strong Excel skills (pivots, lookups, schedules)
- Experience working across multiple entities or projects
- Big 4/top public accounting, renewables, power, infrastructure, or construction experience is a requirement
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus, not required
