The Invention Room is a busy, established salon seeking a full-time or part-time hairstylist to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is education-minded, dependable, respectful, coachable, professional—and fun to work with!

We take our work and guest experience seriously, but we also believe you should enjoy the people you work beside.

• Closed every Sunday and Monday

You Might Be Our Person If You

• Hold a current New York State cosmetology license
• Are motivated, career-minded, and education-focused
• Bring positive energy and enjoy being part of a fun team
• Are coachable, receptive to feedback, and willing to follow salon systems
• Maintain a neat, polished, and professional appearance
• Keep a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace
• Treat guests and coworkers with respect
• Are dependable and arrive prepared to work
• Want to grow professionally and financially
• Are available for some evenings and alternating Saturdays

An established clientele is welcome but not required. We’ll provide education, guidance, and opportunities to grow—you must bring the commitment and effort needed to build a successful career.

Responsibilities

• Perform haircuts, color, styling, and treatments within your skill level
• Provide professional consultations and personalized guest care
• Educate guests about professional products and home care
• Follow salon service, sanitation, and guest-care standards
• Participate in education and team development
• Contribute to a positive, respectful salon environment

Compensation and Career Growth

• Starting hourly pay of $16.25–$16.75 per hour, based on experience
• Tips are additional
• Guaranteed hourly compensation while building your clientele
• Once you reach at least 50% request-booked, you will transition to our commission-based compensation structure
