The Role
We are seeking a Security Engineer to design, build, and maintain the security foundations that protect the Firm’s technology and data. This is a high-visibility position working in close partnership with the Chief Information Security Officer, with direct impact on the safety, reliability, and scalability of the business.
We are looking for a broad-based security engineer who is prepared to take ownership of new challenges across a greenfield environment. The role is open in both Abu Dhabi and New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading threat detection and response capabilities — including deception technologies and alerting — across on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Architecting, implementing, and maintaining security controls spanning applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
- Contributing to internal certificate authority design, alongside authentication and authorisation frameworks for both human and non-human identities.
- Establishing and enforcing security standards, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory obligations and business priorities.
- Collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams to embed security best practices into development and deployment lifecycles.
- Making foundational architectural decisions that support the Firm’s growth trajectory and long-term security posture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of professional experience in security engineering and information security, ideally within financial services or similarly demanding environments.
- Demonstrated experience with security monitoring, incident response, or SIEM platforms.
- Strong analytical mindset with a rigorous approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Background in software development, operating systems, or systems administration, with strong Linux experience.
- A proven record of delivering well-reasoned, robust security solutions.
- Working knowledge of FIX protocol and the security considerations of financial messaging infrastructure.
- Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native security tooling.
- Familiarity with financial services regulatory requirements.
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
