26-034 Electrical QA / Cable Assembly Technician
Invariant Corporation is seeking a full-time talented and motivated Electrical QA / Cable Assembly Technician with a minimum of 10 years of total experience required.
QA Duties Include:
- Provide quality test event support and ensure test procedures are followed, as applicable.
- Perform kit inspection against drawing requirements, as applicable.
- Support final inspections of electrical assemblies and electro/mechanical assemblies.
- Set up, modify, and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
- Support maintaining traceability of purchased and manufactured hardware components.
- Assist with root cause and corrective action investigations and help implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Support system-level test events, as needed.
- Perform cable testing using our in-house cable testing machine, as needed.
- Assist with counterfeit part prevention, as needed.
Include Electrical Technician Duties:
- Assemble harnesses and electrical devices (switches, relays, and circuit boards) in accordance with relevant mil-spec standards.
- Test cable connections and ends.
- Cuts, Strips wire, attaches pins and assembles harnesses and recovers heat shrink and maker sleeves as required.
- Reads and interprets documents such as engineered drawings, schematics, work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work process specifications and procedure manuals.
- Carries out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Conduct in-process quality inspections on work in progress in accordance with quality specifications; make continuity checks on both work in progress and completed work.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions.
- Performs other duties, as required.
Requirements:
- Maintain an active Security Clearance
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Min 8 years of cable harness building experience
- Min 2 years of electrical quality experience.
- IPC 610 (J-STD) Soldering.
- IPC 620 Cable Harness Fabrication.
- Basic knowledge of test equipment (DITMO, O-scope, etc.).
- Ability to interact professionally in a small, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and client.
- Candidate must have 10 years of related work experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 compliant quality lab within aerospace or manufacturing industries.
Preferred qualifications:
- Audit experience in manufacturing and services environment.
- Experience troubleshooting nonconformances and working with customers, suppliers, and engineers for improvements.
- Experience in participating in quality investigations, undertaking root cause analysis, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring the effectiveness of actions undertaken.
- Experience with DoD cabling and electrical drawings/schematics.
- Additional years of experience is a definite plus.
Requires ability to:
- Experience with mechanical/electrical fabrication; cable and connector assembly.
- Possess the skills and experience in the use of a variety of tools and materials related to electrical cable/wire harness fabrication and basic mechanical assembly, missile assembly & ordnance experience.
- Significant experience and understanding of building deliverable hardware built to military specifications.
- Work well in a small, fast-paced and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and client.
- Demonstrate innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills and adaptive thinking.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, making rational decisions, and exercising good judgment is essential.
Work Environment
- Office, Lab, and field environment.
Attendance
- Normal workdays are from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. Alternate work schedule can be negotiated.
- Support will be provided as needed during this time frame, but small efforts may be made at any time to support operations.
