Deputy Program Manager

Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Deputy Program Manager to support our government customers in the execution of complex programs for Department of Defense initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with the Program Manager, Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that project milestones, budgets, and schedules are realistic and adhered to. This position is contingent upon the successful award of an anticipated contract.

Duties Include:

• Support the Program Manager assisting in all aspects of program execution including cost, schedule, risk, and deliverable management.
• Serve as a delegate for the Program Manager, as needed, in support of internal status meetings, technical interchange meetings, formal program reviews, etc.
• Communicate regularly with program team keeping them abreast of program mission, goals, and objectives while providing strategic direction per guidance, and in alignment with, the Program Manager and customer requirements.
• Support tracking of procurement activities to include the management of key vendor relationships and working closely with our in-house procurement team to ensure successful and timely procurements.
• Interface with the Program Planning and Control team to track cost and schedule ensuring optimal allocation of resources and timely deliverables.

Requirements:

• At least Bachelor's degree from an accredited university program.
• At least 3 years of experience managing projects or programs for DoD customers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to show great attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of weapon systems integration and testing and/or training and simulation systems.
• U.S. Citizenship required, and successful completion of a background check is mandatory.

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge of hardware design and integration processes is strongly preferred, especially as it pertains to aviation and missile systems.
• 5 years of experience managing projects and programs for DoD customers.
• Experience with Jamis Prime or similar ERP
• Experience with development and utilization of earned value metrics

Work Environment:

Office, laboratory, and field environment. Must be willing to travel to customer locations, field tests, and meetings 10%-15%.

This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
