Safety Manager – Night Shift
Location: Cape Canaveral, FL
Project: Recovery & Dismantling Operations
Employment Type: Contract Consultant (2–3 Months)
Shift: Night Shift (12-Hour Shifts)
Schedule: Approximately 60–72 Hours Per Week
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Pay Rate: $55.00/hour ($82.50/hour OT)
Per Diem: $150/day
Position Summary
Intuitive Safety Solutions (ISS) is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a high-profile recovery and dismantling project at Cape Canaveral, Florida, which involves complex lifting, rigging, crane operations, and heavy construction activities.
The Safety Manager will provide on-site safety leadership during night shift operations, ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry’s best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting crane and rigging operations and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide full-time onsite safety oversight during night shift operations.
- Monitor and support crane lifts, rigging activities, heavy equipment operations, and material handling activities.
- Conduct routine field inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to reduce risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety requirements, and applicable EM 385-1-1 standards.
- Participate in pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and lift planning reviews.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and support corrective action implementation.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement activities.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with project management, field supervision, and craft personnel to drive a strong safety culture.
- Serve as a visible safety leader and trusted resource for project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of construction, industrial, heavy civil, or crane and rigging safety experience.
- Current CHST certification or higher-level safety credential required.
- Strong experience supporting crane operations, rigging activities, and critical lifts.
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations.
- Ability to work extended shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform field-based work in an active construction and industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- EM 385-1-1 experience strongly preferred.
- Current EM 385-related training or certification.
- CSP, ASP, CSHO, SSHO, or equivalent professional safety credentials.
- Experience supporting aerospace, marine, industrial, energy, heavy civil, or mission-critical projects.
- Previous experience working around recovery operations, heavy lifts, or specialized rigging projects.
Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based role supporting active recovery and dismantling operations.
- Extended standing, walking, climbing, and outdoor work required.
- Standard construction PPE required and provided.
