Construction Safety Manager – Owner’s Representative
Data Center Construction Projects
📍 Multiple roles and project locations across the U.S., including Columbus, OH, Fairless Hills, PA, and Berwick, PA.
ISS is seeking a professional and relationship-driven Construction Safety Representative to support construction projects across multiple active job sites. This role serves as the Owner’s Representative and works closely with General Contractors (GCs) to observe, report, and track safety findings throughout all phases of construction.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a professional presence, solid leadership capabilities, and the confidence to push back when necessary. This individual must be comfortable operating in fast-paced construction environments with strict safety standards and high accountability.
This is not a “stop work authority” role. The primary responsibility is to observe work activities, document findings, report concerns to the General Contractor, and track corrective actions through closure within the required timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the site-level representative for the client’s Construction Manager (Owner’s Representative)
- Conduct daily site observations, assessments, and safety measurements within GC-controlled construction zones
- Observe construction activities and document findings in Procore
- Track safety observations and corrective actions through closure
- Escalate unresolved findings to the Site Safety Engineer as needed
- Participate in site walks, meetings, and safety discussions with project stakeholders
- Measure and monitor General Contractor adherence to the client’s Health & Safety Standards
- Build professional working relationships with owners, contractors, and project leadership teams
- Support multiple local projects and construction locations simultaneously

- This position does NOT stop work, directly correct craft workers, or intervene in work activities
- The role focuses on observation, documentation, reporting, follow-up, and escalation
- Candidates must have thick skin, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate challenging conversations with confidence and diplomacy
- Success in this role requires attention to detail, consistency, accountability, and relationship-building skills
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, industrial safety, or technology-related construction environments
- Strong computer and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor with strong leadership presence
- Experience building relationships with contractors, owners, and project teams
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with 3 years of applicable experience
OR
- Minimum 5 years of applicable experience implementing Health & Safety management programs in industrial, civil, or technology-related construction sectors
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST certification
- CSP certification
- Owner’s Representative experience
- Experience with Procore reporting and documentation
- Experience presenting findings and updates to management teams

Equipment & Requirements

- Candidate must provide a functioning laptop capable of running Microsoft Office applications and Procore
Schedule & Duration
- Schedule: 5 days per week / 40 hours per week
- Duration: Approximately 1 year with potential extension
Reporting Platform

- Familiarity with Procore certification or reporting workflows is strongly preferred
