Intuit's Corporate Strategy and Development team works on highly visible, key acquisition, investment and strategy initiatives. The team is focused on identifying, evaluating and executing on opportunities to drive growth and/or operational excellence for Intuit and its portfolio of businesses. The work mirrors the work found at top venture capital/private equity firms, investment banks, corporate development departments and strategy consulting firms. Key activities include evaluating M&A opportunities, investigating strategic and investment opportunities, designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analyses, and presenting findings to corporate leadership.
The Principal of Intuit Ventures position offers exposure to senior leaders across the company as well as greater responsibility and career progression than is often found in professional services.
This role currently reports to the Head of Intuit Ventures.
Responsibilities
- Independently identify, source, prioritize, evaluate and execute investments in early-stage startups aligned with Intuit’s strategic areas of focus and investment themes
- Develop investment theses to further qualify existing or define new areas of focus and investment themes
- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to generate deal flow, including Intuit leaders, venture capital firms, accelerators and entrepreneurs
- Be an ambassador for Intuit Ventures at external conferences and networking events
- Conduct product, business and financial due diligence on prospective investment opportunities
- Own relationships with portfolio companies and support management teams
- Synthesize strategic insights, prepare investment memos, reporting and other related materials for Intuit’s investment committee and executive leadership
- Monitor and manage the strategic and financial performance of Intuit’s existing portfolio of investments
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:
Bay Area California $220,500 - 298,000
This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. Qualifications:
- 8 years of work experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital/private equity or corporate development
- MBA or equivalent experience desired
- End-to-end transaction-execution experience related to investing or M&A
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about products, markets, business models, competitive landscapes and relevance to Intuit’s business
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with investors, entrepreneurs and executives
- Ability to both work independently, with limited direction, and lead and/or support as part of a team is important
- Superior communication (written/verbal), presentation and meeting facilitation skills
- Well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to lead teams and build relationships with senior executives
- Excellent analytical, quantitative skills, including proficiency with valuation and financial modeling
- Proven ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail
Salary : $220,500 - $298,000
