Senior Manager, U.S. Federal Government Relations Advocacy

Intuit
Washington, DC Full Time
POSTED ON 9/17/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/16/2026
Overview

Intuit — the global financial technology platform behind TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp — is hiring a U.S. federal government relations advocate to advance the company's priorities on Capitol Hill and across the Executive Branch. This is a senior advocacy role on the Global Corporate Affairs and Public Policy (GCAPP) team, owning direct engagement with Members of Congress, staff, regulators, and other policymakers on a broad federal policy portfolio spanning tax administration, financial services, and fintech.

The role reports to the Director of Federal Government Relations and operates with a high degree of independence. In coordination with the U.S. federal advocacy team, you will execute on issues end-to-end — from intelligence and analysis through strategy, direct advocacy, and outcome — and be accountable for results on each. This is a role for an operator who takes an issue, runs it, and delivers as part of a high-performing GCAPP team, dedicated research and intelligence support, and direct partnership with Intuit's business, legal, and compliance leaders.

Intuit is committed to building a team that reflects a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives, and to recruiting and developing the most talented people from a wide candidate pool.

Responsibilities

  • Own a broad portfolio of federal policy issues end-to-end: set the advocacy approach for each, drive it directly on the Hill and across the executive branch, and own the deliverable outcome.
  • Serve as a registered lobbyist, personally engaging Members of Congress, senior staff, committee personnel, and Administration policymakers to move Intuit's priorities.
  • Build and run the external coalitions — trade associations, allied companies, third-party validators — needed to win on each issue, without waiting to be told which levers to pull.
  • Translate fast-moving legislative and regulatory developments into clear business outcomes and a point of view, and bring business and legal partners along with you.
  • Anticipate risks and opportunities across your portfolio and act on them; advise internal stakeholders proactively rather than reactively.
  • Work with and manage external stakeholders like consultants, trade associations, and other groups to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience across some combination of Capitol Hill, executive branch, and corporate or trade-association government relations — with a track record of personally owning issues and delivering wins.
  • Strong existing relationships with Republican or Democratic leadership or committee staff are highly valued.
  • Current, demonstrable relationships with Members of Congress and senior congressional staff, with the ability to secure access on Intuit's priority issues.
  • Direct professional experience in a congressional office and/or a presidential Administration strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, multi-front policy challenges and run them independently to resolution.
  • Deep knowledge of policy affecting AI, tax, financial services, and fintech.
  • Proven track record in coalition building and reputation management within the policymaking and regulatory community.
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy, sets their own priorities against business objectives, and operates with minimal oversight.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or master's in a relevant field) strongly preferred.
