We are a growing mental health practice seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and motivated Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA. Our practice focuses on supporting women, children, and families through evidence-based, client-centered care that honors each individual’s unique story and goals.

The Mental Health Counselor will provide women, children, couples, and/or family counseling services while maintaining a manageable caseload and delivering high-quality clinical care. Clinicians will conduct intake assessments, develop collaborative treatment plans, document sessions in a timely manner, and coordinate care.
This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy but also enjoys building meaningful therapeutic relationships, and wants to be a part of a supportive and mission-driven practice.
- Provide play like therapy, individual, and family therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Conduct intake assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using EHR systems
- Support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and related mental health challenges
- Coordinate care with physicians, schools, community providers, or additional supports as needed
- Maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality
- Participate in case consultation and ongoing professional development
- Contribute positively to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative practice culture
- Current Virginia licensure or license-eligible status in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field (LPC, Resident, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention
- Experience or interest in working with women, children, couples, and families
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis-management skills
- Comfort using EHR systems and technology for documentation
